A Haunting in Venice releases in theaters this Friday.
Tina Fey teams up with Kenneth Branagh’s detective Hercule Poirot, embodying another beloved Agatha Christie character in “A Haunting in Venice.”
On Tuesday, 20th Century Studios offered an exclusive clip from the film to PEOPLE, featuring Fey, aged 53, as Ariadne Oliver, a fictional mystery novelist. Here, Poirot initiates the unfolding of his latest investigation, and Ariadne plays a pivotal role.
In the clip, Poirot acknowledges Ariadne as the first to discover the lifeless body central to the enigma in “A Haunting in Venice.” While acknowledging her credible alibi, he seeks her assistance in his ongoing investigation, underscoring the shared history between the two characters.
“A Haunting in Venice” marks Branagh’s third adaptation of Christie’s Hercule Poirot novels, following “Murder on the Orient Express” in 2017 and “Death on the Nile” in 2022. This latest film is based on one of Christie’s lesser-known works, “Hallowe’en Party,” originally published in 1969.
